Overview

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for product development, on-time validation and release of new products and post-launch support for extruded products. We are looking for an experienced, action-oriented, hands-on engineer to Identify, own and drive improvements through adherence to established product design, extrusion processes, and advanced automation.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams and will develop ideas that will enhance and expand the extruded product li
  • Be a strong project leader and provide technical leadership and occasional supervision of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineers, and Quality Engineers to improve extruded products
  • Self-starter, working independently across multiple functional organizations
  • Manage assigned new product projects to meet justified objectives. This may involve the use of internal project staff and external resources.

 

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 7+ years of product design and project engineering, with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Experience with demonstrated competence in plastics, molded and extrusion desig
  • Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of design and mechanical engineering concepts
  • Proven success in product development as a leader of cross-functional team
  • Experience with demonstrated competence in troubleshooting automated equipment.
  • Proficiency in project management and execution and effective project scheduling
  • Proficiency in 3D solid modeling CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to Collaborate with Process Engineers, and Quality Engineers to improve extruded products
  • Willingness to travel regularly, including to work in Extrusion plants

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degree (ME or MBA)
  • Direct supervisory experience managing engineering staff
  • 5+ years of design experience of low cost, high-volume, high-quality products
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, DOE, SPC, and FEA
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, control systems, PLC programming

 

Salary range for candidates based in California: $142,202.51- $214, 803.76

Salary ranges include base salary and annual incentive bonus if applicable.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
