Overview

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for growing Rain Bird Landscape product sales in select regions located within the states of AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, TN, MS, NC, and SC. through the leadership of a team of Distributor Managers and Contractor Account Managers.  The successful candidate will be required to think/plan strategically, demonstrate the ability to aggressively drive sales through the distributor channel and achieve in depth knowledge of identified regions.

 

This position is remote within the Florida or Southeast Regions (AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, TN, NC, and SC)

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and successfully execute a regional sales plan that will achieve significant Landscape sales growth through the distributor and contractor channels.
  2. Recruit, train, manage and develop a Distributor Manager and Contractor Account Manager Sales staff. Implement corporate policies, ensure adherence to strategic guidelines, and develop a succession plan for this sales team.
  3. Justify and execute promotional and conversion programs intended to drive sales through the distributor and contractor channels, assuring market shares gains are achieved in each region.
  4. Achieve Sales goals for all Landscape SBU’s within the assigned regions.
  5. Work in conjunction with the Sales Manager to drive the development and implementation of the SBU Strategic Plans. 
  6. Collaborate with SBU Marketing to ensure that the product line plans, marketing programs, launches and marketing materials meet the distributor customer needs.
  7. Work with the Distributor Manager Team to maintain a seamless and cohesive approach to the market, while achieving the sales goals for all Landscape SBU’s within the assigned region. 
  8. Prepare regular and special sales reports as assigned including quarterly reports, strategic plans, market share analyses etc.
  9. Willing to travel at least 50% of the time and live within the region.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 8+ years of experience in Sales.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects.
  • Sales Management experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills in addition to strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Aptitude for quantitative analysis, strategic and tactical thinking, and detailed planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, build and motivate teams in the context of a business environment.
  • Strategic thinker with strong interpersonal, influencing and leadership skills.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in wholesale distribution or business to business marketing, irrigation and installation.
  • MBA
  • Bilingual/Speaks Spanish
