The Lead QAS (Quality Assurance) Engineer will be responsible for leading, planning and execution of key QA projects.  The job title and salary will be based on the experience of the candidate.

 

This position is remote, but will require at minimum of 30% travel  the first year for training.

Responsibilities

  • Be the point-person responsible for QA supporting multiple project and platform teams
  • Provide “Cradle to Grave” support for New Product Development and Sustaining Efforts by overseeing the creation and review of test strategies, test plans, and test cases
  • Monitor manual and automated test plans/results and provide concise feedback to project and platform teams for release guidance
  • Collaborate and mentor functional and automated (including offshore) test teams to achieve project goals
  • Identify and advocate for Design for Testability (DFT) requirements and Quality Objectives in larger project meetings
  • Day-to-day management and/or coordination of test team(s)
  • Ensure that test teams obtain the resources (including hardware and tools)
  • Clearly communicate summary test status and results; highlight high severity issues
  • Provide the voice of QA supporting good business decision-making in go/no-go and promotion assessments
  • Gain and maintain knowledge and understanding of product line in all our target markets
  • Drive meetings with offshore teams
  • Leverage, and drive adopted tools for defect tracking and test automation tools and methodologies

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent extensive experience
  • 9 or more years of experience or the equivalent in a complex product driven engineering development environment
  • 9 or more years of experience managing software and device test and quality assurance activities
  • Extensive experience with Jira ticket management and workflows
  • Experience managing distributed teams
  • Experience managing and developing test plans for complex electronic devices like cloud-connected and app-connected devices
  • Load and performance testing knowledge in scalable cloud applications/IoT ecosystems
  • Demonstrates creative problem solving, attention to detail, and persistence
  • Experience leveraging test management toolsets such as Zephyr or others to create test plans, test cases, manage test activity and report on status, results and coverage
  • Experience as a lead and/or manager in both agile and waterfall processes
  • Ability to convey detailed test results clearly and concisely for decision-making
  • Experience with the full product life cycle (e.g., product creation, production release, sustaining, etc.)
  • Self-motivated and strong analytical problem-solving abilities. Ability to thrive in situations of ambiguity
  • Ability to work compassionately but effectively in a multi-cultural environment
  • Experience collaboratively working within an integrated Functional and Automated Test Environment

DESIRED Qualifications:

  • Prior experience administering test tools such as Jira, Zephyr Scale, or Zephyr Enterprise
  • Experience developing automated tests systems, test scripts and test cases
  • Experience developing code coverage improvements leveraging deep inspection code coverage toolchains
  • Test Automation Scripting knowledge in a language such as C# or Python

 

Salary range for candidates based in California: $158,954.78- $238, 432.17

Salary range for candidates based in Colorado or New York- New York City: $148,555.87- $222, 833.80

Salary ranges include base salary and annual incentive bonus if applicable.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
