Overview

The Customer Service Manager or Pump Field Service Manager (FSM) provides on-site and remote technical support to ensure quality installations for the Rain Bird Pump Systems. The Pump FSM improves the quality of the pump service network throughout the US and international markets by recruiting talented technicians and business partners. The position would require hosting formal training sessions for internal and external technicians, engineers, and customers.  This role may require up to 50% travel.

 

This position is headquartered out of Tucson, AZ, which is the preferred location. Fully remote is an available alternative, but may result in an additional 10% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Host formal training for field technicians both locally in Tucson and at remote locations
  • Improve the level of training to our field service network
  • Recruit talented field service personnel locally situated to grow field service network
  • Manage the performance of the external field service network
  • Provide technical phone/email support to customers, distributors, and field personnel.
  • Provide diagnostic troubleshooting of pumps, motors, filters, VFDs, PLCs, Radios, cellular modems, and irrigation components to include valves, rotors, electronic controllers, flow sensors, and other products.
  • Travel to work with on-site technicians as required for installation, maintenance, or repair projects
  • Track, report, and follow-up on product and technical issues using established escalation processes.
  • Identify, document, and execute improvement projects to ensure field support personnel have adequate troubleshooting and operation manuals.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • S. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 15 years of relevant experience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills: mechanical, electrical, and communications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work closely with co-located and remotely located colleagues.
  • Understanding of integrated mechanical and electrical systems

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Fluency in Spanish or other foreign language(s)
  • Experience with programming to include Programmable Logic Controller, modem, radio, and VFD programming
  • Irrigation, golf course service and Golf/Landscape Central Control programming experience
  • Experience in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Experience with personnel management and project management

Salary range for candidates based in California: $102,000 - $153,000

Salary range for candidates based in Colorado or New York- New York City: $107,000 - $143,00

Salary ranges include base salary and annual incentive bonus if applicable.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
