  • Overview

    This person is responsible for growing Rain Bird Turf product sales in the identified markets through the leadership of a team of Contractor Account Managers. The successful candidate is required to think and plan strategically, demonstrate the ability to aggressively drive sales through the contractor channel, and develop in-depth knowledge and market intelligence of assigned regions of the Southeast and Midwest, USA.


    • Develop and successfully execute a regional sales plan that will achieve aggressive Turf sales growth targets through the contractor channel
    • Recruit, train, manage, and develop a Contractor Account Sales staff.
    • Implement corporate policies, ensure adherence to strategic guidelines, and develop a succession plan for this sales team
    • Justify and execute promotional programs intended to drive sales through the contractor channel, assuring market shares gains are achieved at the contractor level
    • Work in conjunction with the Sales Manager to drive the development and implementation of the SBU Strategic Plans
    • Collaborate with SBU Marketing to ensure that the product line plans, marketing programs, launches and marketing materials meet the contractor customer needs
    • Work with the Regional Manager team to maintain a seamless and cohesive approach to the market, while achieving the contractor sales goals for all Turf SBU’s within the assigned region 
    • Prepare regular and special sales reports as assigned including; bimonthly reports, strategic plans, market share analyses, competition updates, and business intelligence reports
    • Frequently work in market and establish a management presence with top contractor accounts



    • Undergraduate degree
    • Sales management experience
    • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects
    • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
    • Strong business and organizational acumen
    • Aptitude for quantitative analysis, strategic and tactical thinking, and detailed planning
    • Demonstrated ability to develop, build, and motivate teams in the context of a business environment
    • Strategic thinker with strong interpersonal, influencing, and leadership ability
    • Motivated, results-oriented, self-starter eager to take ownership of job requirements



    • Located in the Southeast US area
    • Experience in wholesale distribution or business to business (B2B) marketing, irrigation design, and installation
    • MBA or graduate degree.
    • Bilingual in Spanish.
