    Rain Bird is the leading global manufacturer of irrigation products and services. Founded in California in 1933, Rain Bird manufactures and distributes in industry’s broadest range of irrigation products for farms, golf courses, sports arenas, commercial developments and residential homes in more than 130 countries across the world.

    The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations of the total business across Australia and New Zealand, including the effectiveness of customer service and managing the full supply chain functions. This is a key role involving interaction with the Corporate head office in the USA and manages a team of direct reports and outsourced service providers.


    Position Responsibilities:

    Customer Service & Supply Chain management:

    • Plan and implement initiatives to improve customer satisfaction.
    • Manage all inbound and outbound customer service functions.
    • Plan inventory purchasing and ensure meeting budgeted stock levels.
    • Management of the relationship with external warehouses.
    • Manage relationships with all suppliers.
    • Improving efficiency and delivering on cost reduction initiatives.
    • Lead Operations/Demand planning process.
    • Lead Quality Management systems & processes within Rain Bird Australia.
    • Management and effective reduction of obsolete and slow-moving inventory.


    System maintenance & development:

    • Management and improvement with ERP platform (Dynamics GP) including data integrity, system development and product master file maintenance.
    • Ensure the ongoing maintenance of Salesforce system customer and product files to ensure effective synchronization with GP.
    • Manage relationships with IT suppliers.


    Financial & commercial:

    • Ensuring effective debtor and vendor maintenance so that the business meets its cash flow objectives.
    • Ensuring credit limit and financial risk is managed within corporate guidelines and in line with the requirements of the global insurance policies and other standards.
    • Preparation and ongoing monitoring of performance versus budget/target as well as ensuring the timely preparation of ongoing revenue and PBT forecasts.
    • Management of the relationship with RBA’s external Accounting company and ensuring compliance with US requirements.



    Minimum Qualifications:

    • University degree or equivalent.
    • Seven to ten years relevant business experience including direct customer facing roles.
    • Demonstrated inventory management experience.
    • Strong commercial acumen and P&L analysis.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • High levels of strategic thinking and project management.
    • Well-developed computer skills.
    • Demonstrated success & experience in B2B sales environments.



    • Knowledge of irrigation products / industry.
    • Microsoft GP experience.
