  • Overview

    The Rain Bird Safety Manager is responsible for the health and well-being of everyone in our faciliites.  This leader builds partnerships within each facility to ensure the corporate Safety guidelines are met, while providing guidance, training and documentation to ensure compliance to country regulations.


    • Working within corporate strategies, designs proposes and implements health, safety and environmental standards, guidelines and procedures to meet company established global requirements supporting short and long-term business needs.
    • Establishes and cultivates a network of support within all business units to facilitate completion of corporate safety related assignments.
    • Provides guidance and leads audits to assess compliance with corporate standards, implements safety monitoring systems and ensures appropriate data is being collected/entered into the corporate safety tracking database.
    • Oversees involvement of outside consultants, when appropriate, and participates in annual risk assessment process with company insurance providers as needed.
    • Maintains documentation of audit results to identify trends and findings. Ensures that actions are being taken in response to findings.
    • Leads training sessions for corporate standards to identified trainers and provides training for internal auditors to enhance the skill levels of the audit teams and site safety coordinators.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 10+ year experience in the manufacturing industry in an Occupational Safety Leadership role.
    • Working expertise in Occupational Safety regulations (Mexico and U.S. standards)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Bi-lingual English/Spanish



    • 4+ years Security experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Lean or Six Sigma Certification



    Demonstrates the ability to communicate well with government agencies, contractors, site personnel and senior management, both on a personal and technical basis. Demonstrates the ability to clearly define relevant project/program information in written and oral presentations.
