    We are currently recruiting for a Golf Sales Specialist to provide sales and service support for specialized accounts such as contractors and golf courses within the UK.


    Targeting potential markets within the UK, this role will involve a strong focus to both assigned and prospective customers with a primary objective to take responsibility for profitably growing product and service sales.

    The Golf Sales Specialist provides sales and service support for specialized accounts such as contractors and golf courses. He/She calls on assigned customers and prospective customers, and promotes and sells Rain Bird Golf products.

    The Golf Sales Specialist will:


    • Work with the Regional Sales Manager and support the Golf District Manager within golf courses to outline Rain Bird’s complete range of capabilities to decision makers
    • Create “solution focused” packages to include Rain Bird products, finance options and aftersales technical support packages for golf course owners, greens committees, consultants, contractors, developers and superintendents
    • Use his knowledge of irrigation system design to work effectively at various customer levels in educating and successfully selling customized irrigation systems to new and existing golf courses
    • Maintain close contact with all service providers to identify and support existing and new customers and their individual needs.
    • Deliver technical product and systems demonstrations to specialized audiences of green-keepers, course managers, course owners, contractors and specifiers
    • Work independently within the defined geographic territory, attention to the North UK and in coordination with the Regional Sales Manager Golf for UK, Iceland, Ireland and Scandinavia and support the Golf District Manager and distribution partners
    • Be measured on revenue production and market share improvement
    • Spend approximately 50% of his time travelling and potentially away from home.


    Minimum qualifications and skills:


    • Undergraduate degree or equivalent (BA or graduate degree would be ideal although not essential)
    • Experience in irrigation or golf industry
    • Experience as a green-keeper, course manager, or as a contractor
    • Demonstrable ability to achieve results individually and through others
    • Be technically competent and will ideally have experience with irrigation design
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Results-oriented and highly self-motivated
    • Strong interpersonal, influencing and leadership skills
    • Excellent written and verbal skills in English
    • Working knowledge of Word, Excel and other related programs
