  • Overview

    The Product Manager for the Contractor Channel will understand and prioritize the needs for the Landscape Contractor customer segment and act to implement strategies to address these needs.  The successful candidate will be involved in recommending, implementing and leading promotional strategies, marketing strategies, pricing strategies, and product launches for the Landscape Contractor customer segment as it pertains to all of the Landscape SBU’s (Contractor, Commercial and Landscape Drip).  These initiatives will be focused on reaching contractors who are not currently serviced by our sales teams.  The ideal candidate will develop expert level knowledge of Landscape Contractors, demonstrate a strong aptitude to develop strategic marketing promotions, understand what drives purchase habits of the Landscape Contractor, be creative in their ability to solve problems and demonstrate the ability to lead/influence others.  The selected candidate will be proactive, customer-oriented and driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment. 


    1. Lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies that reach underserved Landscape Contractor customers.
    2. Lead and implement programs, promotions, campaigns that change the Landscape Contractor’s purchase behavior and understanding of Rain Bird products.  
    3. Coordinate marketing strategy and messaging with the 3 Landscape SBUs Marketing groups, as they pertain to the Landscape Contractor customer segment.
    4. Work with and assure buy-in by the 3 Landscape SBUs to lead, develop and implement product launches as it pertains to the Contractor customer segment.
    5. Work closely with field sales on local programs that deliver pull through sales of Rain Bird products and increase market share with the Landscape Contractor customer.
    6. Become a Landscape Contractor Customer expert and use this expertise to shape/lead marketing, sales and product efforts for the 3 Landscape SBUs.

    Research, develop and deliver compelling marketing materials, value propositions and promotions to field sales to help them maximize sales and market share growth with the Landscape Contractor segment



    • Bachelor’s degree, with 5 to 10 years of experience in leading a Sales and/or Marketing organization.
    • Demonstrated ability in developing and driving marketing strategies derived from a qualitative/analytical analysis of markets.
    • Demonstrated success generating results from people who are not direct reports.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop, build and motivate teams in the context of a business environment.
    • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills.
    • Entrepreneurial – Self-motivated, team player, enthusiastic and creative.
    • Highly creative individual who sees problems as an opportunity to try something new.



    • International business relations experience.
    • MBA with an emphasis in marketing is highly desirable.
    • An understanding of the landscape irrigation market.
    • Ability to speak multiple languages.
