The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and leadership skills, as well as, be proactive, customer-oriented, and driven to succeed in a fast paced environment.  He/She will be self-motivated and enjoy independent field work that will deliver extraordinary results.


He/she will work effectively at various customer levels including dealers, contractors, consultants and government bodies, to educate, justify and successfully sell Rain Bird irrigation products. 

Responsibilities may include irrigation technical training for distributors, assistance in merchandising, developing and expanding markets, etc. Be responsible for forecasting and providing input for the Landscape division on competitive information and market trends.


The person will be required to drive the sales and marketing effort of the Landscape business to develop and gain market share in a highly competitive market.


  • Sell contractors, municipalities or public entities, private companies and specifiers on using/buying Rain Bird landscape products and services
  • Grow sales faster than the market growth rate and achieve sales objectives by growing sales with top professional irrigation contractors through the Rain Bird distributor network.
  • Demonstrate to these customers Rain Bird’s landscape products and services, their application, key benefits and ease of troubleshooting.
  • Educate and influence the irrigation contractor on the value of Rain Bird’s landscape products; their application and key benefits as it relates to product preference.
  • Make field visits to landscape sites in order to solicit orders for product and service sales
  • Participation in demo days, road shows, customer fly-ins and trainings, tradeshows and regional sales meetings
  • Successfully develop and implement local and regional programs to promote Rain Bird landscape products.
  • Managing phone basic technical support to all customers/users.
  • Strive to differentiate Rain Bird from it’s competitors by providing superior customer service, high visibility and aggressive call coverage cycle
  • Maintain, utilize and grow contractor and public agency databases for direct marketing and communication efforts.



  • Graduate degree (BA or BS)
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience and a proven ability to sell
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral.
  • Motivated and results oriented
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and commonly used business software (Word, Excel etc.)
  • Fluent in Portuguese and an intermediate English level minimum required.
  • Must be willing to travel at least 70% of the time.



  • Working knowledge of residential and commercial irrigation products & practices
  • Fluency in Spanish language is a plus.
