Overview

The Engineering Supervisor is a working leader who is responsible for providing daily management of the engineering team within Systems Manufacturing.  This includes manufacturing, applications and new product development engineering.  The Engineering Manager leads the execution of the Systems Manufacturing Product Strategy and is the primary liaison with manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring proper staffing for all key engineering requirements
  • Complete individual assignments while leading a team
  • Onboarding and cross training of all engineering staff
  • Leading cost savings initiatives in coordination with Buyer/Planner staff
  • Routinely evaluating low cost alternatives to common components
  • Executing the product road map as defined by the Systems Manufacturing Strategic Plan
  • Supervising engineering staff members
  • Developing robust quotation templates that allow for easy pricing and content updates, and that can be used by non-technical personnel
  • Participating in special project teams
  • Recruiting new engineering staff members
  • Directly assisting division management in improving overall profitability
  • Any additional duties assigned by the General Manager

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering field (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • At least 7 years’ experience in capital equipment engineering roles
  • Demonstrated leadership and engineering skills
  • Successful track record of achievements
  • Ability to learn quickly and willingness to take on new challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Team oriented individual

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • Leadership experience
  • Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
  • Proven ability to successfully launch new products
  • Lean manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma experience.
